Song of the day: “The Lonely” – Christina Perri

FaceTweet it!

New song obsession alert.  Christina Perri, I don’t know what you went through, or if you’ve even experienced anything that warrants this type of raw, emotional response…but if you have, thank you for sharing it with everyone in the form of a song.  If not, you deserve not only an award for the musicality of it all, but an Oscar, as well.  I know I believed you.

Seeing as I account for the past God-knows-how-many-or-so “views” of this song on YouTube, I may be a bit biased.  Songs where artists truly express themselves, without the use of a facade or flashy sound effects to distract from the point of it all, embody a completely different meaning of beauty.  Her vulnerability and the simplicity of the relationship between the piano and the strings makes me melt.  I haven’t heard a song this emotional in awhile and if I have to wait this long again to hear a song with the quality of The Lonely, I will gladly do so.

Thank you for posting this on my wall, Brett!

PS: A note to all lyrical/contemporary choreographers: PLEASE use this song.  If anyone finds a dance to this, feel free to post it as a comment.
