Song of the day: “Miss Nothing” – The Pretty Reckless

FaceTweet it!

Flipping through People last night, I came across a list of recent album releases.  My eyes were drawn to The Pretty Reckless because of the Gossip Girl reference.  Do I watch that show?  No.  Am I ok with that?  More than you’ll ever know.  I wrote myself a quick note, telling myself to check it out during work because, as I’m sure most of you know, a good laugh is always a mood lifter.

As it turns out, I didn’t laugh at all when the song came on.  Reminiscent of an edgier Ashlee Simpson, front girl Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless surprised me quite a bit, and took me back to senior year of high school.  That brief surprise was nothing compared to the shock that came seconds later.  Recognizing her from more than a Gossip Girl ad here and there, I did a quick Google search on Taylor Momsen.

Oh no.

I was having a little party in my cube to a song sung by none other than CINDY LOU WHO from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  Was I embarrassed before I found that little factoid?  No.  Am I embarrassed now?  Not at all; that’s hilarious.  Now all I can picture is little Miss Cindy Lou Who and her awesome hair rocking out to Miss Nothing.

Will I fall victim to another child star gone musician?  Where are you, Christmas, and why can’t I find you?  Stay tuned to find out.  xoxo, HauteThought

  1. I found it funny you happen to post Miss Nothing in which taylor momsen plays Mary Magdelene and right after Judas who plays the same person. Just an observation. 🙂
